    • Petone Settlers Museum. It’s easy to miss that the Petone Settlers Museum Te Whare Whakaaro is actually a museum as it’s in the old Provincial Centennial Memorial that looks more like a monument than a building.
    • Cooking class at La Bella Italia. We love a good cooking class and this is one of the best in the Wellington Region. La Bella Italia is an Italian food hub with a full deli, shop and restaurant.
    • Craft beers at Queen of Jackson. The Wellington obsession with craft beer absolutely extends to the Hutt Valley and the best place to drink in Petone is Queen of Jackson, a laidback friendly pub on the main street.
    • Shop on Jackson Street. We love the awesome variety of shops and cafes on Jackson Street. With the old colonial buildings, it feels like being in small town New Zealand but you’re so close to the capital.
