Lloret de Mar ( Catalan: [ʎuˈɾɛd də ˈmaɾ]; Spanish: [ʎoˈɾe (ð) ðe ˈmaɾ]) is a Mediterranean coastal town in Catalonia, Spain. It is 40 kilometres (25 miles) south of Girona and 75 kilometres (47 miles) northeast of Barcelona. With a population of 38,402 in 2021, [4] it is the second largest town in the Selva comarca of Catalonia.
- Lloret Beach. The best remedy to a heavy night out is a few hours comatose beneath a parasol, as well as the odd refreshing dip in the sea. Right next to the busiest part of the resort, Lloret Beach lets you relax to your heart’s content, on fine golden sands and with more than enough room to make your own little camp.
- Fenals Beach. Separated from Lloret Beach by a pine-speckled headland, 700-metre-long Fenals Beach is marginally smaller but has a less touristy atmosphere.
- Water World. No true family resort would be complete without a water park, and Lloret de Mar’s is as big as they come. Parents who’ll have the job of parking on a sun lounger for the afternoon will be especially happy: The attraction is ensconced in beautiful parkland with palm trees and old pines, as well as swards of verdant grass surrounding every pool and chute.
- Santa Clotilde Gardens. You could spend a refined hour or two ambling through these cliff-top gardens next to Fenals Beach. They’re almost a hundred years old and were designed in the Italian renaissance style by Nicolau Maria Rubió i Tudurí.
- Platja de Lloret de Mar. The main beach in Lloret de Mar should not be missed. If you are going to be based in Lloret de Mar, you will no doubt spend plenty of time enjoying the large bay at this beautiful beach.
- Platja de Fenals. This is my personal favorite beach in Lloret de Mar. You can get here by walking from the main beach along the coastal path. This is the longer, but more beautiful route.
- Sa Caleta Lloret. If you walk in the other direction from Platja de Lloret de Mar, you’ll shortly come to a small rocky beach called Sa Caleta Lloret.
- Cala de Sa Boadella. While all beaches in Spain are topless beaches, if you are looking for a place to go full nude, this is the beach for you. You’ll likely want to drive or get a taxi here unless you are happy to walk from town along the coast.
