Jonesboro (/ ˈ dʒ oʊ n z b ʌ r ə /) is a city located on Crowley's Ridge in the northeastern corner of the U.S. State of Arkansas. Jonesboro is one of two county seats of Craighead County. In 2022, the city had an estimated population of 79,876, making it the fifth-most populous city in Arkansas.

It is the Craighead County seat (though Act 61 of 1883 created the “Eastern District of Craighead County,” providing for the establishment of another county courthouse at Lake City due to early difficulties in travel).
