Drongen (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈdrɔŋə(n)] ⓘ; French: Tronchiennes, pronounced [tʁɔ̃ʃjɛn]) is a sub-municipality of the city of Ghent located in the province of East Flanders, Flemish Region, Belgium. It was a separate municipality until 1977. In 1967, part of the original municipality was already annexed to Ghent.

Drongen Abbey, or the Old Abbey, Drongen (Dutch: Abdij van Drongen, Oude Abdij van Drongen), is a monastic complex on the River Leie in Drongen, a part of the city of Ghent in East Flanders, Belgium. Formerly a Premonstratensian abbey , since 1837 the premises have belonged to the Jesuits .
The Abbey is located in Drongen, a village about 6 km from Ghent, a city in the heart of Flanders, that combines an old historic centre with innovative business parks. The Abbey is situated along the river Lys in a picturesque park of 25 acres, containing gardens, ponds, orchards and meadows.
