Nevers ( / nəˈvɛər / nə-VAIR, French: [nəvɛʁ] ⓘ; Latin: Noviodunum, later Nevirnum and Nebirnum) is a town and the prefecture of the Nièvre department in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region in central France.
