The University of Bedfordshire is a public research university with campuses in Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire, England. The University has roots in further and higher education from 1882: it gained university status in 1993 as the University of Luton.

University of Bedfordshire Overview. The University of Bedfordshire is based in Luton and Bedford, two large towns north of London. The University of Bedfordshire has two main campuses in the centre of Luton and on the outskirts of Bedford, both with on-campus accommodation.

Previously Luton College of Higher Education, with roots dating back to Luton Modern School, founded in 1908, the University of Bedfordshire has been known by its current name since the University of Luton and De Montfort University’s Bedford campus merged in 2006.
