Satya Yuga (a.k.a. Krita Yuga) (IAST: Kṛta-yuga), in Hinduism, is the first and best of the four yugas (world ages) in a Yuga Cycle, preceded by Kali Yuga of the previous cycle and followed by Treta Yuga. Satya Yuga lasts for 1,728,000 years (4,800 divine years).
- Satya Yuga. In Satya Yuga, human beings were adept in meditation and possessed unbelievable strength and longevity. The Vedic texts state that humans during Satya Yuga, or the Golden Age, lived for up to 100,000 years.
- Treta Yuga. In Treta Yuga, the Silver Age, human beings engage in nonviolent religious sacrifice as a means of propitiating the gods and ultimately pleasing the Supreme Person, Vishnu.
- Dvapara Yuga. Even before the beginning of Dvapara Yuga, by the end of Treta Yuga, human beings began to stray from the path of dharma, or the religious way of life.
- Kali Yuga. While Sri Krishna remained on the planet, Kali Yuga could not begin. The reason is that the presence of the Supreme Person keeps ignorance and irreligion at bay.

- Matsya Avatar. Also known as the Fish Incarnation, Mastyadeva is the first of the Dashavatar. He appeared in Satya Yuga to retrieve the Vedas from the demon known as Hayagriva, and He also saved King Satyavrata from a torrential flood that submerged the Earth.
- Kurma Avatar. Also known as the Tortoise Incarnation, Kurma is the second of the Dashavatar. He appeared in Satya Yuga to assist the demons and demigods in churning the ocean of milk.
- Mohini Murti. Once the demons and demigods had churned the nectar of immortality from the milk ocean, immediately a dispute broke out regarding how it should be divided among them.
- Dhanvantari. Dhanvantari is a form of Vishnu who appeared to inaugurate the medical science of Ayurveda. He manifested from the churning of the milk ocean and was the one who carried the nectar of immortality coveted by the demons and devas.
