Gregory Stephen Chappell AO MBE (born 7 August 1948) is a former cricketer who represented Australia at international level in both Tests and One-Day Internationals (ODI). The second of three brothers to play Test cricket, Chappell was the pre-eminent Australian batsman of his time who allied elegant stroke making to fierce concentration.

Born on August 7, 1948, Greg Chappell captained Australia between 1975 and 1977, before joining World Series Cricket for two years. He returned to lead Australia in 1979 till his retirement in 1984. Chappell made his Test debut against England in 1970 and went on to score 7,110 runs in 87 Test matches.
