The County Championship is the domestic first-class cricket competition in England and Wales. The tournament currently has a two-division format with ten counties in Division One and eight in Division Two.
The competition showcases world-class cricket in a fast-paced format designed to open cricket up to a broader audience as well. The competition launched in 2021 and features eight teams from seven cities – Birmingham, Cardiff, Leeds, London (two sides), Manchester, Nottingham and Southampton.
Nov 30, 2022 · The 2023 fixtures for the men’s county and women’s regional domestic competitions have today been confirmed by the England and Wales Cricket Board. The men’s LV= Insurance County Championship will kick off the domestic season on 6 April, with 14 fixtures per county.
