Lagaan: Once Upon a Time in India, or simply Lagaan, ( transl. Land tax) is a 2001 Indian Hindi-language epic period musical [5] sports drama film written and directed by Ashutosh Gowariker. The film was produced by Aamir Khan, who stars alongside debutant Gracy Singh and British actors Rachel Shelley and Paul Blackthorne.

Mar 14, 2023 · I saw Lagaan at the now-defunct Adlabs preview theatre in Film City (Mumbai), a few days before its release. I remember being emotionally walloped by the film. I don't have any memory of this exchange but a few years later, Karan Johar told me that he met me as I was leaving the theatre. He had come for the next show.
