Chaudhary had contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Mathura, but had lost to BJP candidate Hema Malini. He then contested the 2019 polls Baghpat but faced defeat at the hands of BJP candidate Dr Satyapal Singh. Jayant Chaudhary was elected to the Rajya Sabha in July 2022.
