May 23, 2020 · Sadma tells the story of Nehalata (Sridevi), who has a car accident while driving back from the beach with her friends. When she regains consciousness, she doesn’t recognise her parents. The doctor explains that a shock or trauma (sadma) can cause this kind of amnesia, in which the patient only remembers things up to a certain age.
Nehalata is a carefree girl who meets with a car accident and looses her memory. She fails to recognize her parents and her mental state is just that of a child. She goes missing and is kidnapped and taken to a brothel and named Reshmi.
Somprakash 'Somu' rescues Nehlata 'Reshmi' from a brothel who post a severe head injury, regresses to childhood. While tending to Reshmi, Somu falls in love with her. However, when Reshmi recovers her memory, she no more recognises Somu.
