Nandini Karnataki (8 January 1939 – 25 March 2014), known mononymously as Nanda, was an Indian actress who appeared in Hindi and Marathi films. Regarded as one of the finest actresses of Indian cinema, her career spanned over 30 years.
Nanda made a name for herself in the industry mainly as a supporting actress, however, she also gained popularity as a lead actress in her later years. Nanda played the lead roles of ‘Ruma’ and ‘Nanda’ in the films “Hum Dono” (1961) and “Teen Devian” (1965).

The Bollywood actress Nanda died on Tuesday morning after suffering cardiac arrest at her suburban Mumbai residence. She was 75. “She breathed her last around 8.30am. It happened so suddenly we could not even call a doctor,” her sister-in-law, the actress Jaishree T, said in a statement.
