History. A timeline of the Hindu College. 1899 — 1908. Late Shri Krishna Dassji Gurwale establishes the College in the historic Kinari Bazar (Chandni Chowk), with prominent Delhi citizens as trustees. A boarding house serves as student residence since 1899.
Founded in 1899, Hindu College has a storied past that binds it closely to the nation, and to the city of Delhi. The idea of the college was born from the Indian movement for independence, which was growing in strength as the nineteenth century drew to a close.
Hindu College has introduced a Research Centre as a dedicated research facility for the faculty and students. The 38,000-square-foot, four-storey facility has labs for the sciences, social sciences, languages, and media.
Hindu College has a long and illustrious history of excellence in sports. The College has outstanding sports facilities with a big field, including a state-of-the-art gymnasium, volleyball and basketball courts, a football field, and a cricket pitch.
