Founded in 2003, Karnataka State Akkamahadevi Women’s University, Bijapur, formerly known as Karnataka State Women's University (KSWU) has seventy women’s colleges affiliated to it. It is recognized under 2(f) and 12(B) of the UGC Act.
Karnataka State Akkamahadevi Women's University (KSAWU, Vijayapura) also known as Karnataka State Women's University was established in August 2003 and is the first university exclusively for women in the state of Karnataka.
KSWU offers 26 PG courses under the faculty of Education, Science, Humanities, Social Science and Management for the duration of 2 years. 4 PG Diploma courses are also offered by the university for the duration of 1 year.
