Students-Undergraduate Research Graduate Excellence (SURGE) program is an internship Program of IIT Kanpur, which runs under the aegis of Centre for Continuing Education (CCE), IIT Kanpur. SURGE program was launched and inaugurated on 8 May 2006 by Professor Sanjay G. Dhande, the then Director, IIT Kanpur.
SURGE for Non-IITK Indian Students: Under this program, Non-IITK Indian students with CPI >= 6 are eligible to apply for summer internship at IIT Kanpur. The eligibility criteria for Non-IITK students at the time of starting of internship are mentioned below:

Under the new Summer Undergraduate Research Grant for Excellence (SURGE) program, second and third year undergraduate students from NIT and IITK (including those in the Dual Degree programs) undertake short duration, but focused research projects and push their intellectual abilities beyond those driven by the classroom.
