Anju Bobby George (born 19 April 1977) is a retired Indian athlete. Anju Bobby George made history when she won the bronze medal in long jump at the 2003 World Championships in Athletics in Paris.
India’s first athletics world championship medal winner, Anju Bobby George occupies a special place in the country’s track and field history. The two-time Olympian also holds India’s women’s long jump national record.
Though her best at the Olympic Games was a fifth-place finish at Athens 2004, Anju Bobby George holds the distinction of being the only Indian to win a medal at the World Athletics Championships, a competition as fierce as the Olympics.
