In the north west of the Wirral Peninsula and at the mouth of the River Dee, the town is contiguous with Hoylake and historically within Cheshire. At the 2011 Census, the population was 12,733.

    • spde83. Birkenhead, UK 103 contributions. Great place to go. Used west kirby marine lake for the first time today on my paddle board. Was clean and not to busy for a new user like me.
