Rockford is a city in Kent County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 6,177 at the 2020 census. [4] Located along the Rogue River, the city is part of the Grand Rapids metropolitan area and is about 10 miles (16.1 km) north of the city of Grand Rapids.

Jul 13, 2019 · Garden Club Park is a gem in the heart of Rockford. It abuts the city's dam overlook and the canoe/kayak landing site to its north. The park, unfortunately, lost much of its unique attributes after the city discontinued allowing the local garden club from determining its landscaping.

HISTORY. The Rockford area was first visited and inhabited by Native American cultures, such as the Hopewell, Mascouten, and Ottawa tribes.
