Hobson shoots these sweeping nature sequences with a heavy emphasis on the symbolic, as if Terrence Malick ’s biggest fan were somehow trapped in George Romero ’s universe.
Breslin’s portrayal of the film’s title role, MAGGIE, marks her second venture into walking dead territory, following ZOMBIELAND, the 2009 feature in which Breslin teamed with a rag tag group of survivors to fend off zombies in a post-apocalyptic world.
