Halebidu ( IAST: Haḷēbīḍ, literally "old capital, city, encampment" [2] or "ruined city" [3]) is a town located in Hassan District, Karnataka, India. Historically known as Dwarasamudra (also Dorasamudra), Halebidu became the regal capital of the Hoysala Empire in the 11th century CE.

I have been to Belur, Halebidu and Shravanabelagola a few times, of course not as often as Hampi though! The finely sculpted temples of Belur and Halebidu are very popular amongst tourists.
