Chandrashekhar Vaidya (7 July 1922 [1] [2] – 16 June 2021), known simply as Chandrashekhar, was an Indian actor and filmmaker working in the Bollywood film industry. He was best known for playing supporting characters in films starring Rajesh Khanna in lead roles and later for playing Arya Sumant in the epic television series Ramayan.
Veteran actor Chandrashekhar passed away in his home at the age of 98 of age-related illness. Many would remember him as Arya Sumant from the popular TV serial, Ramananad Sagar’s Ramayan (1987).
