Abhinavagupta was a philosopher, intellectual and a spiritual leader of Kashmir Saivism from ca. 950-1020. He has largely contributed to Indian poetics through his two remarkable commentaries on Bharata called Abhinava-bharati and on Anandavardhana called Kavyalokalochana.
