Bandreddi Sukumar (born 11 January 1970) is an Indian film director, film producer and screenwriter who works in Telugu cinema. He is known for his complex and multi-layered screenplays, and infusing grey shades in the characterisation of his protagonists.
Bandreddi Sukumar, popularly known as Sukumar, is a screenwriter, film director, and producer of Telugu films. Sukumar was born to Tirupathi Rao Naidu, a rice trader, and Veera Veni, a homemaker. He studied at a Zilla Parishad High School in Razole in Andhra Pradesh.
Sukumarudu is a 2013 Indian Telugu -language romantic drama film directed by G. Ashok and produced by K. Venugopal's Sri Soudhamini Creations. The film stars Aadi in the title role alongside Nisha Aggarwal and Bhavna Ruparel. Krishna and Sharada appear in guest roles. Music is composed by Anup Rubens.
Pushpa: The Rise is a 2021 Indian Telugu -language action drama film written and directed by Sukumar, and produced by Mythri Movie Makers and Muttamsetty Media. The film stars Allu Arjun as Pushpa Raj, a coolie who rises in a syndicate that smuggles red sandalwood, a rare wood that grows only in the Seshachalam Hills of Andhra Pradesh.
