The dataset containing information about passengers aboard the Titanic is one of the most famous datasets used in data science and machine learning. It was created to analyze and understand the factors that influenced survival rates among passengers during the tragic sinking of the RMS Titanic on April 15, 1912.
Titanic Dataset - Train.csv will contain the details of a subset of the passengers on board (891 to be exact) and importantly, will reveal whether they survived or not, also known as the “ground truth”.
The titanic dataset gives the values of four categorical attributes for each of the 2201 people on board the Titanic when it struck an iceberg and sank. The attributes are social class (first class, second class, third class, crewmember), age (adult or child), sex, and whether or not the person survived.
