Amrit Rai (3 September 1921 – 14 August 1996) was an Indian writer, poet and biographer in both the Hindi and Urdu styles of the Hindustani language. He is the son of Munshi Premchand, a pioneer of modern Urdu literature and of Hindi literature.

Aug 14, 2023 · उत्तर प्रदेश हिंदी संस्थान द्वारा अमृतराय को ‘भारत भारती पुरस्कार’ से भी सम्मानित किया गया. 14 अगस्त, 1996 को प्रयागराज में उनका निधन हुआ. प्रस्तुत है उनकी पुस्तक ‘ प्रेमचन्द : कलम का सिपाही ’ का एक अंश- मुंशीजी शान्तिपूर्वक लमही में बैठे अपने सूरदास की कहानी लिख रहे थे, पर देश में आग लगी हुई थी.
