Donald F. Glut (/ ɡ l uː t /; born February 19, 1944) [2] is an American writer, motion picture film director, and screenwriter. He is best known for writing the novelization of the second Star Wars film, The Empire Strikes Back .
DONALD F. [Frank] GLUT was born a War Baby on February, 19, 1944 at the Old Camp Hospital and baptized in the chapel at Pecos Army Air Field, in Pecos, Texas, to Julia Eleanor Blasovits and 1 st Lieutenant Frank C. Glut — both very creative people when it came to music, art and writing. Don grew up in Chicago, his family’s home town, after his Dad, a baker by trade, was sent overseas to fight the Nazis.
Donald F. Glut has been active in both the entertainment and publishing industries since 1966. Don has had a long and varied career. He has been a professional musician, actor, film director, executive producer, photographer, magazine editor, proofreader and (very briefly, for an advertising agency) copywriter, but is mostly known for his long career as a freelance writer.
