Omaha North High School was built in 1924 and remains an anchor to the North Omaha community. The original building has a unique E-shape, which stands not only for education but for excellence – two strong Viking traditions that remain intact today.
In 1983, North was designated a magnet school focused on math, science, and technology. In 1993, the school completed a $20 million renovation that included the Viking Center, renovation of the library, and the addition of the multipurpose physical education and athletics facility.
