Daughter of noted dancer Raguram, Gayathri is an Indian actress-turned-choreographer, who first debuted as an actor in 2002 with the Tamil movie Charlie Chaplin. The same year, she made Kannada and Malayalam debuts with the movies Manasella Neene and Nakshathrakkannulla Rajakumaran Avanundoru Rajakumari respectively.
