Li Desheng (Chinese: 李德生; pinyin: Lǐ Déshēng; Wade–Giles: Li Te-sheng; 4 May 1916 – 8 May 2011) was a general in the Chinese People's Liberation Army. He was born in Xin County, Henan, China, an area now known as the "Cradle of Generals" for the large number of senior military officers born in the region.
Li Desheng, male, Han nationality, is a native of Suzhou, Jiangsu Province. Li engaged in petroleum exploration, exploitation and geological research for many years. He was one of the earth science workers during the discovery of the Daqing oil field.
Significance: Mao Zedong was appointed Chairman of the CCP Central Committee, with Zhou Enlai, Wang Hongwen, Kang Sheng, Ye Jianying and Li Desheng as vice-chairmen. 25-member Politburo, 9-member Politburo Standing Committee and other central organs were elected.
