SIMON GOUBERT. Born in Rennes in 1960 he began studying the piano at the age of 3. He discovered the drums on the 4th February 1970, when Kenny Clarke played a concert in his home town. He studied percussion, first at the Conservatory in Rennes, then, from the beginning of 1976 with Sylvio GUALDA at the Conservatory in VERSAILLES.
In 1996, Simon Goubert was the first drummer to win the Prix Django Reinhardt from the French Académie du Jazz. SIMON GOUBERT – photo Nathalie Courau-Roudier. 30 years after the first jam, Gary Brunton, Bojan Z and Simon Goubert are playing together on Night Bus (2019) and Second Trip (2020).
