Serj Tankian (/ s ɜːr dʒ ˈ t ɑː n k i ə n / TAHN-kee-ən, Armenian: Սերժ Թանգյան; born August 21, 1967) is an Armenian-American musician and songwriter. He is best known as the lead vocalist, keyboardist, and primary lyricist of System of a Down, which was formed in 1994.
Serj Tankian was born on 21 August 1967 in Beirut, Lebanon. He is a composer and actor, known for Hardcore Henry (2015), Body of Lies (2008) and Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019). He has been married to Angela Madatyan since 10 June 2012.
