Rebecca Coupe Franks was born in San Jose, California. Started playing the trumpet at age 10 in Palo Alto and continued playing when her family moved to Aptos, CA. Rebecca joined the Aptos middle school and high school jazz band. Rebecca attended San Jose State and soon after moved to New York City to finish her BA in music at The New School.
