Gay Woods (18 September 1948) is an Irish singer. She was one of the original members of Steeleye Span . Early years. Gabriel Corcoran was born in Dublin, a neighbour of her future husband Terry Woods. Her elder brothers shared Woods' love of hillbilly music and blues.

Gay Corcoran (b.1948) and Terry Woods (b.1947) recorded together for most of the 1970s. They first began performing in 1963. Terry Woods played in numerous bands during the '60s before replacing Joe Dolan in Sweeney's Men in 1967. Terry and Gay married in 1968.
A by-product of this gig was founding vocalist Gay Woods rejoining the band full-time, partly because Prior was experiencing vocal problems and, for a while, Steeleye toured with two female singers and released the album Time 1996, their first new studio album in seven years.
