The Tragically Hip, often referred to simply as the Hip, were a Canadian rock band formed in Kingston, Ontario in 1984, consisting of vocalist Gord Downie, guitarist Paul Langlois, guitarist Rob Baker (known as Bobby Baker until 1994), bassist Gord Sinclair, and drummer Johnny Fay.
Johnny Fay is the drummer of “The Tragically Hip”. Often referred to as “The Hip”, the band formed in 1983, and have spent the last decades at the forefront of the Canadian music industry while releasing 12 studio albums, two live albums, and 46 singles.
Gord Sinclair (bass guitar) and Johnny Fay (drums) grew up across the street from each other and have been best friends since they were infants. They met Gord Downie (vocals) and Rob Baker (lead guitar) in high school in Kingston, Ontario. They formed the Tragically Hip in 1983 with saxophonist Davis Manning.
