Lucifer's Heritage first released two demos in 1985 and 1986, despite undergoing chaotic lineup changes: Dörk and Stauch were replaced by Christof Theißen and Hans-Peter Frey, respectively. Finally, in 1987, Marcus Siepen joined and Thomen came back to form the lineup which would stay consistent for the next 18 years.

However, I remember some parties in my room when the BG guys came and put a new demo recording of themselves in the cassette player.
Feb 20, 2015 · Guitarist Christof Theißen joined and left the band in 1986 — because journalists found his name to be a pain in the ass to type. “You have to keep in mind, this was in the day of typewriters,” Kürsch said in 1997 interview with Umlaut Quarterly .
The following year they released their second demo Battalions Of Fear (1986, Independent) -not to be confused with Blind Guardian‘s debut album-, the last recording with guitarist Christoph Theissen who would later leave the band.
