- Smashed (2012) ‘Smashed’ is a beautiful romantic film coated with the issue of alcoholism. James Ponsoldt again delivers a very enriching film although this time, he consciously focuses on alcoholism and the attempts of a couple to get sober.
- The Spectacular Now (2013) Director James Ponsoldt shows his extensive understanding of the subject of alcoholism in this novel adaptation. ‘ The Spectacular Now’ highlights the adverse effects of alcohol on teenagers, but it mostly focuses on the romance between a high school alcoholic and his shy, reserved girlfriend.
- Days of Wine and Roses (1962) Way back into the era of black-and-white released a film which showed the plight of two alcoholics in a time when alcoholism wasn’t such a huge issue. ‘
