Roy and a boyhood friend are at odds over a bandit and his gang who goes around killing and stealing under the guise of a Southern army officer. Roy and Gabby have to clean up the bad guys. A bit of a tear-jerker but still lots of good music and funny scenes. You'll like it.

Synopsis. Accompanied by his sidekick, Gabby Whittaker, Roy returns to his home in Kelso, Missouri to sell a string of horses and visit some old friends. Roy arrives to find the town troubled by talk of war, for although the state of Missouri is pledged to fight for the Union, the sympathies of Kelso lie with the Confederacy.
