A teenage boy with a fear of human touch and a recurring nightmare of decapitating people is sent to a school for mentally disturbed youth. There, he meets Lisa, a girl with dissociative identity disorder, and they form a bond.
Over time, however, David grows interested in 15-year-old Lisa (Janet Margolin), who suffers from multiple personalities -- one who can only speak in rhyme, and the other, a mute.
