The aims and objectives of the Congress were defined very clearly by the 1st President of INC, W. C. Bonnerjee. He described the objectives as: Promotion of personal intimacy and friendship amongst the countrymen.
The Bombay (Mumbai City) Session of the Indian National Congress on 26th October, 1934, was a turning point for the organisation owing to a number of major changes that were made in the constitution of the Congress. The session was conducted under the presidency of Dr Rajendra Prasad.
