Manasarovar is a freshwater sacred lake in Tibet. The waters from glaciers in Kailash feed the lake. It is located in the western part of Tibet Autonomous Region in Ngari Province, about 30 km from Darchen. The lake is one of the highest in the world at an altitude of about 4590 meters.

Many people who visit Tibet want to go to Mt Kailash but just near Mt Kailash is the most magnificent freshwater Lake Manasarovar which is worth visiting in its own right. It is also worth spending an extra couple of days there to take in its beauty and surrounding sights.
