Microsoft Academic was a free internet-based academic search engine for academic publications and literature, developed by Microsoft Research in 2016 as a successor of Microsoft Academic Search. Microsoft Academic was shut down in 2022. Both OpenAlex [1] [2] and The Lens claim to be successors to Microsoft Academic.
Jun 5, 2015 · The Microsoft Academic Graph is a heterogeneous graph containing scientific publication records, citation relationships between those publications, as well as authors, institutions, journals, conferences, and fields of study. This graph is used to power experiences in Bing, Cortana, Word, and in Microsoft Academic (opens in new tab). The graph is currently being updated on a bi-weekly basis until the end of the calendar year 2021.
