May 1, 2009 · BASF has announced plans to acquire Ciba Holdings AG, the latest in a series of large acquisitions in the chemical industry over the past two years. BASF has offered 50 Swiss francs ($44.96) in cash for each Ciba share, for a total deal value of about CHF 6.1 billion ($5.5 billion).
