The Bad Seed is a 1956 American psychological thriller film directed by Mervyn LeRoy and starring Nancy Kelly, Patty McCormack, Henry Jones and Eileen Heckart . The film is based upon the 1954 play of the same name by Maxwell Anderson, which in turn is based upon William March 's 1954 novel of the same name.
A mother suspects her daughter Rhoda, a seemingly perfect girl, is a cold-blooded killer. Based on a play and a novel, the film was nominated for four Oscars and starred Nancy Kelly and Patty McCormack.

Feb 26, 2016 · This film came out when my mother was a child. At some point, she fell in love with it and as I grew up; it played often in our home. I find the storyline and content to be fascinating for its time and I have enjoyed watching it again as an adult with a better understanding; a sad, yet deep psychological thriller.
