Dec 10, 2020 · John Lennon was a writer as well as a musician. It was entirely natural for him to put pen to paper whenever he had an idea, thought, reaction or a desire to communicate. He lived, and died, in an age before emails & texts. Pen & ink was what he turned to.
Oct 25, 2021 · John Lennon was talented, but he wasn't a genius, that's self-proclaimed. His writings gathered in this book are mostly childish, sarcastic, angry and disturbing in many ways. People need to quit placing him on a very high pedestal and acting as though he were the second coming.
Through his songwriting in the Beatles, he embraced myriad musical influences, initially writing and co-writing rock and pop-oriented hit songs in the band's early years, then later incorporating experimental elements into his compositions in the latter half of the Beatles' career as his songs became known for their increasing innovation.
