Gian Simmen (born 19 February 1977) is a Swiss snowboarder. In Snowboarding at the 1998 Winter Olympics , Simmen won Gold in Men's Halfpipe. He competed at the 1998, 2002, and the 2006 Olympics Winter games.
Gian Simmen, a 20-year-old from Arosa, Switzerland, was not one of the favourites. A new discipline. The competition began with a qualifying round. The top six snowboarders advanced directly to the final.
Gian Simmen ist ein Schweizer Snowboarder aus Arosa. Mit seinem Sieg an den Olympischen Winterspielen 1998 ist er der erste Halfpipe-Olympiasieger des Snowboardsports. Daneben wurde er 2001 und 2002 ISF-Weltmeister in derselben Disziplin.
