Haile Gebrselassie (Amharic: ኀይሌ ገብረ ሥላሴ, romanized: Haylē Gebre Silassē; born 18 April 1973) is an Ethiopian former long-distance track, road running athlete, and businessman. He won two Olympic gold medals and four World Championship titles over the 10,000 metres.
Haile Gebrselassie is considered one of the greatest runners in history, with victories and world records in almost every long-distance and middle-distance event.

Gebreselassie was a four-time World Indoor Champion, winning the 3,000 metres in 1997, 1999, and 2003, and also winning the 1,500 in 1999. Against the clock Gebreselassie was equally dominant. He set three world records in the 10,000, with a best of 26:22.75 in 1998.
