Gülse Birsel, Fransa'nın Cannes şehrinde Ayşe Arman aracılığıyla tanıştığı gazeteci ve televizyoncu Murat Birsel ile bir yıl sonra Ağustos 1999'da evlendi. Anne olmaya uygun biri olmadığını ifade eden Birsel'in çocuğu bulunmamaktadır. Eşiyle birlikte Nişantaşı'nda yaşamaktadır.
