Oct 31, 2014 · Back in the early 1980s, Rao Rampilla studied international law in JNU. He worked as an attorney in the United States before becoming an actor over a decade ago. He has done commercials, television shows and Hollywood features, including Adam Sandler ’s That’s My Boy (2012).
Since graduating from Georgia Law, Rao N. Rampilla (LL.M.'87) has been an international lawyer, a special counsel with the Indonesian Mission to the United Nations and has worked on numerous civil rights cases. But after the events of September 11, Rampilla, who was an actor and poet in his native country of India, returned to his artistic roots.
Rao Rampilla is an American actor based in New York City who has worked in films such as That's My Boy, Isn't It Romantic and Gandhi, Untouchables and Me. He is also a former UN/Seneca Nation of Indians attorney, a Goodwill Ambassador for UNDP and a supporter of BLM.

Rao started with a theatre while in High School and then continued with poetic writings. He came from a civil rights movement in India, having sat on a hunger strike until death at the JNU (the National University, New Delhi) for social justice for Dalits in India.
