Gino Cervi was an Italian character actor and manager best-known outside of Italy for his film portrayal of a small-town Communist mayor in the “Don Camillo” films. The son of a theatre critic, Cervi worked with various theatres for 15 years (1924–39) until he became the manager of Rome’s Teatro.

Gino Cervi (3 May 1901 - 3 January 1974) was an Italian actor of international fame. Cervi was born in Bologna. His father was the theatre critic Antonio Cervi. In 1928, he married Nini Gordini (one of his partners) and they had a son, Tonino Cervi.
